Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program (PRP)

Building Skills. Strengthening Independence. Supporting Recovery.

At Empowerment Behavioral Therapeutic Services (EBTS), we understand that mental and behavioral health challenges can affect much more than how a person feels. They can influence relationships, school performance, employment, daily routines, decision-making, community involvement, and the ability to live as independently as possible. Our Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program (PRP) provides individualized, strengths-based support to help eligible children, adolescents, and adults develop practical skills for greater stability, confidence, independence, and success in everyday life.

PRP complements therapy and other behavioral health treatment by helping individuals take the skills and strategies discussed in treatment and apply them to real-world situations. Our rehabilitation team works collaboratively with each individual to identify strengths, understand barriers, establish meaningful goals, and practice skills in the environments where they are needed most—at home, at school, at work, and throughout the community.

Depending on the individual’s age, needs, abilities, and personal goals, PRP services may focus on:

  • Developing coping, emotional regulation, and symptom-management skills
  • Improving communication and interpersonal relationships
  • Strengthening problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Building healthy routines, organization, and time-management skills
  • Developing age-appropriate self-care and independent living skills
  • Improving social skills and positive community involvement
  • Building confidence, self-esteem, and self-advocacy
  • Learning how to identify, access, and appropriately use community resources
  • Supporting educational, vocational, or employment-related goals
  • Developing budgeting and basic financial-management skills when appropriate
  • Strengthening family, peer, and other supportive relationships
  • Increasing independence and successful community functioning
  • Practicing skills learned in therapy in everyday situations

For children and adolescents, PRP may focus on emotional regulation, communication, positive peer and family relationships, school functioning, healthy decision-making, organization, age-appropriate independence, and successfully navigating home and community environments. When appropriate, EBTS collaborates with parents, caregivers, therapists, schools, and other members of the young person’s support system to reinforce progress and promote consistency.

For adults, PRP may place greater emphasis on maintaining daily routines, independent living, symptom management, interpersonal functioning, accessing healthcare and community resources, employment or educational goals, financial-management skills, community integration, and developing the confidence necessary to manage everyday responsibilities with greater independence.

Because meaningful progress often happens outside of an office, PRP services may be provided in community-based settings where individuals can practice new skills while navigating real-life experiences. This hands-on approach helps bridge the gap between learning a skill and confidently using it in everyday life.

At EBTS, we recognize that recovery and personal growth look different for everyone. We meet individuals where they are, recognize their strengths, celebrate progress, and help transform larger goals into achievable steps. Whether the goal is improving relationships, succeeding at school, becoming more independent, returning to work, accessing community resources, or simply managing everyday responsibilities with greater confidence, our team is here to provide support along the wellness.
